MarlinThe Mundane WorldMarlin and his wife Coral have just moved into a new sea anemone with their children, still in their eggs. A barracuda comes and attacks their home, killing Coral and all of their unborn children except one. Marlin names him Nemo. He is very overprotective of Nemo. The Call To AdventureWhen Nemo goes to the edge of the reef to make Marlin mad, a scuba diver takes him away. Crossing The ThresholdMarlin, although terrified of the open ocean, goes out to search for Nemo. The Path of TrialsMarlin meets Dory on his way to find Nemo. Marlin reluctantly agrees to have Dory tag along and the two get into a whole mess of adventure on their way to find Nemo. They are chased by a shark, go down into the deepest part of the ocean, swim through the jellyfish and meet some sea turtles before making it to Sydney. Marlin finds Nemo, but Dory gets trapped in a fisherman’s net. Marlin has to trust Nemo and let him go into the net so that he can save the fish and Dory. Master of Two WorldsMarlin goes on an incredibly life-changing journey. First, he is overprotective and doesn’t let Nemo do anything. After he goes through his journey, his relationship with his son is extremely improved because Marlin realizes that he cannot stop Nemo from growing up and the best way for him to turn into a healthy adult is for him to let him explore on his own.
